Bring year-round beauty to the landscape with Cornus sericea, commonly known as Red Twig Dogwood. This western Washington native shrub is prized for its brilliant red stems, which create a striking display throughout the winter when most gardens are bare. In spring, it produces clusters of creamy white flowers that attract pollinators, followed by white berries enjoyed by birds in summer. Rich green foliage turns shades of orange to burgundy in fall, providing color in every season.

Red Twig Dogwood thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a wide range of soils, but especially moist and poorly drained areas. You'll find it growing beside rivers, ponds, and at the base of hills. Regular pruning encourages vigorous new growth so you can enjoy the brightest stem color come wintertime.
