Ongoing Care
Site in a spot protected from strong wind, since stems can flop in exposed locations — cut back if that happens. Divide clumps every 2–3 years to keep plantings vigorous. Watch for stem rot or powdery mildew in wet, poorly-drained sites; good drainage is the main thing to get right.

Fun Facts
The genus name Achillea comes from Achilles, the Greek mythological hero said to have used yarrow to treat his soldiers' wounds. "Sneezewort" which is a common name of achillea ptarmica refers to old-world use of the dried, powdered leaves as a snuff.
